I bought a Rem. 700VS a couple of months back in .308. My only problem with it so far is that it scratches the hell out of my brass. The scratches start about 1/8" after the neck and deepen towards the rear of the brass/cartridge, and continue through the rim. The scratches are deep enouph to catch my fingernail.
Has anyone run into this?

Scratches on Brass !
Sounds like the Mag well lip has a burr or sharp corner.
Mark the brass with a felt pen or file and find out were the scratch is compared to were the round travels during chambering.
When you found it , and I belive its the magwell lip deburr with a fine file or dowel with sandpaper through the bottom of the well.
