Designated Marksman Rifle:
PS: This months issue of Leatherneck has an article about the "new" Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR). It is a semi-only match M-14 with the McMillan M2A stock, Harris bipod, Leupold Mk4 M3 scope, and a leather sling. It looks like it has a longer than normal barrel in the picture, but the article only says it has a special barrel. Anyone with inside info?

Just noticed a post a while back concerning the USMC's "new" Designated Marksman rifle. If any of you are curious the site is "www.mca-marines.org/Leatherneck/features2.html". Don't get too riled as you read it. Between the civilian author and the KNucklehead Major he interviews they have about about as much weapons knowledge as this keyboard I'm pounding on. It is intersting that the USMC is going to the Mk4 M3 Leupold for the DMR. How long before it shows up on the M40A2?
There is some other stuff on there too. Should get you old timers pretty pissed off. Hey, if you can't teach Marines to shoot because the training program is all ate up, throw money at it!!!!

Hey Gooch as for that piece of shit DMR rifle we are using, they have had the Mk 4's on them for about 3 1/2 years now. The only difference they made with that weapon that u see in that article from the one we were using, was they used different scope rings and a base, not sure what they were and a different stock. Thats it. There has been the rumor that when we destroy all the Unertl we are suppose to switch to Leupold. thats the rumor.
Sgt g out!!!!!
