Glock Magazine Speed Loader

Glock Magazine Speed Loader

Materials — The Glock Magazine Speed Loader for 9mm Mags is the only option within this review that is actually manufactured by Glock. Of course, there is also an option available made by Glock for your 10mm weapons. However, this 9mm option will obviously be the more commonly purchased one. The design is factory bulk packed, but it’s made with the same Glock polymer the company uses on its weapons and other accessories. The sides have a raised texture, so your hands won’t slip if they happen to be a little sweaty. This 9mm option will work with most Glock models, including 17, 19, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 38, and 39.

Performance — This speed loader is a tool that allows you to load rounds quickly and efficiently.  One of the best things about the Glock speed loading is how quick and simple it is to use. Once you acquire a grip on how to use this equipment, you won’t need to put in as much effort to line up the rounds in the tray. It will still save you time overloading them one by one. This speed loader works great as range magazines making it a valuable addition to your gun and it is very useful.

What we say — The Glock Speed Loader is a fantastic choice. It is simple to use without any parts that might break, and it is very affordable. This is the speed loader for you if you want to make the magazine loading process as simple as possible.

Pros
  • Compact and portable design
  • Durable, long-lasting construction
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • More manual to operate than others

RAE Industries Double Stack Magazine Loader

RAE Industries Double Stack Magazine Loader

Materials — The RAE Industries Double Stack Magazine Loader is a highly demanded option online, and it happens to be offered in a variety of colors including black, blue, glow in the dark, nuclear green, orange, pink, purple, ruby red, and yellow — if that were to interest you at all.

While not necessarily universal, it fits a variety of bullet diameters from 9mm/.35 caliber to 11.43mm/ .45 caliber. It should be compatible with all Glock models. But if you own other pistols some popular styles it also works with are Beretta, Colt, Luger, Ruger, Sig, S&W, Taurus, Walther, and a handful of others. Very little force is required with this option, so delicate (or at least not forceful) hands are all that is required to utilize it.

Performance — The RAE Industries Double Stack Magazine Loader, while not totally universal, is pretty dang close to being universal. At the minimum, it should have your Glocks covered. We appreciate the slimmer design than some other speed loaders, simply because it’s easier to hold and store away.

The construction is certainly more stable than many other plastic or polymer loaders as well. The color options aren’t a really important factor to us, but that could be fun for some (glow in the dark, anyone?) Despite the sturdier construction, the manufacturers do point out that not a lot of force is needed, and we agree with them. Please, be gentle when using this product. We’re talking to our big-handed men out there.

What we say — The RAE Industries Double Stack Magazine Loader is the best Glock speed loader for those who prefer a slimmer design and are hoping to get more use out of their purchase with other pistols.

Pros
  • Although not universal, it offers options that can fit different bullet diameters
  • Lightweight an compact design
  • Stable and sturdy construction
  • Requires little force to use
Cons
  • Requires gentle use

MakerShot Custom Magazine Speed Loader

MakerShot Custom Magazine Speedloader

Materials — The MakerShot Custom Magazine Speedloader is similar in appearance to the previous option (minus the selection of wild colors as it only comes in black). However, this one is custom-made to your specific Glock model instead of touting it as universal or near-universal.

Currently, the available models of this speed loader are for Glock 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 27, 30, 34, 35, 36, 42, and 43. Simply put your 9mm, .40, and .380 caliber Glocks. You will get an incredibly smooth experience since every speed loader is fit for your handgun. The construction is made of a tough polymer, as opposed to a more flimsy plastic, and the shape is fairly ergonomic as well.

Performance — The MakerShot Custom Magazine Speedloader seems almost exactly like the RAE Industries option, but is obviously much more unique to your Glock. That is both the upside and downside of this option. You’re receiving a custom fit that is guaranteed to be perfect for your handgun, but you also have to purchase more than one if you want a speedloader for more than one firearm.

That point aside, the construction is very stable — more so than the polymer Glock option at the beginning of this review. Sorry guys, but no fun colors to pick from here.

What we say — The MakerShot Custom Magazine Speedloader is the best Glock magazine loader for those who only require this tool for maybe one or two pistols. Otherwise, your shopping cart will get really expensive really fast.

Pros
  • Custom fit to your Glock pistol
  • Made of very durable polymer material
  • Very smooth use and function
  • Ergonomic design
Cons
  • Not universal in any way

Maglula UpLula Universal Pistol Magazine Loader

Maglula UpLula Universal Pistol Magazine Loader

Materials — The Maglula UpLula Universal Pistol Magazine Loader is easily one of the most popular and well-reviewed speed loaders on the market today. It is also one of the only truly universal options you can purchase. The construction is made of plastic, and it’s only available in black.

This option works for both single stack and double stack loading and is advertised to be compatible with all 9mm, 10mm, .357, .40, and .45 magazines, as well as all 1911 mags. The use isn’t even required to press their bullets in; they only simply need to be dropped in place. This option is a fitting shape to be pushed into a pocket and carried with the user wherever it is needed.

Performance — We had to include the Maglula UpLula Universal Pistol Magazine Loader in this review because it is clearly the most popular online. With over tens of thousands of positive reviews, we’ll put in our two cents too. This is the only option within this review that is really universal. If you own multiple pistols or even multiple Glocks, then this is the best choice for you.

We don’t like how significantly more expensive this option is — it’s almost twice as much (or more) as all the other speed loaders we’ve considered. We suppose it’s worth the money if you’re going to get the proper use out of it. This option worked pleasantly well with all the Glocks we tested it out on, so no complaints about the function.

What we say — The Maglula UpLula Universal Pistol Magazine Loader is the best choice for those who are going to get their money’s worth and use it with more than one or two pistols.

Pros
  • Universal design
  • Sturdy construction makes it lasts a long time
  • Works for both single and double-stack magazines
  • Requires little effort to use when loading cartridges
Cons
  • Expensive

Caldwell Universal Pistol Loader

Best Glock Speed Loaders Caldwell Universal Pistol Loader

Materials — This speed loader’s structure is outstanding. The loader’s body is polycarbonate, and it’s outfitted with a die-cast aluminum handle. This makes it the best compatible Glock fast loader since the gadget is sturdy and won’t budge while loading a magazine. It’s compatible with a wide variety of cartridge sizes, including 9mm, 10mm, .357 Sig, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP. It works with double-stack extended magazines, and big single-stack, large double-stack, small double-stack, and compact magazines.

Performance — Caldwell Universal Loader can load nearly any 9mm magazine with little effort.  Simply insert a round, secure it with the included Lock Kob, then pull the lever to release the round. The loader’s movable side shims allow it to accommodate magazines of varying lengths.

What we say — You can load your magazines twice as quickly with the Caldwell universal pistol loader compared to by hand, plus it has a firm fit magazine setup and multi-caliber operation for versatility.

Pros
  • Universal caliber
  • Stable and no flexing
  • Easy to use
  • Adjustable side shims
Cons
  • Operation may take some getting used to

ETS Elite Tactical Systems CAM Speed Loader

Best Glock Speed Loaders ETS Elite Tactical Systems CAM

Materials — This speedloader is compatible with 9mm,.40,.380, and.45 calibers, and it works with both single- and double-stack magazines. It’s made out of a polymer that’s designed to last, so it won’t break with normal use. It’s lightweight and small enough to throw in a bag and take to the range.

Performance — The CAM speedloader’s speed and simplicity of use make it one of the best Glock quickness loaders available. You’ll need to use some muscle to use it, but it’s not complicated. You can just slide it along a tray of 9mm rounds in the designated grooves, and it will automatically grab the bullets for you. Simply slide the magazine loader into the bottom until it locks, and then use the plunger to force the bullets down into the magazine from the ammo box.

You’ll never even need to handle the bullets in the weapon. Keep in mind that you’ll need to put some muscle into using this mag loader and that the rounds in the tray need to be perfectly aligned for it to function properly.

What we say — With Elite Tactical Systems’ CAM magazine speed loader, you can quickly and easily reload your handgun magazines. It’s loaded with high-tech features that make it ridiculously simple to operate, like an automatic round-picker that keeps your hands away from the ammunition. This speed loader simplifies magazine loading to the max.

  • Picks rounds up from ammo tray hands-free
  • Works with various calibers and magazines
  • Portable and easy to put away
Cons
  • Requires properly lined up rounds to function well
  • Not universal (9mm & ,40 caliber only)

Buyer’s Guide to the Best Glock Speed Loaders

There are a lot of different speed loaders on the market these days and it can be tough to know which one is the best for your needs. Here is a buyer’s guide to help you choose the best Glock speed loader for you.

Speed

First and foremost, you want to make sure that the speed loader is fast. The last thing you want is to be in a situation where you need to reload your gun quickly and the speed loader is too slow.

Various speed loaders use a variety of mechanisms, depending on their design. A loader’s ability to quicken the process of loading depends on the details of its mechanism. Still, it all depends on how long it takes you to get the device and operate it.

Materials

You also want to make sure that the speed loader is made from high-quality materials. After all, you don’t want your speed loader to break when you need it the most. Look for a speed loader that is made from durable materials such as aluminum or polymer.

It is best to choose models constructed of long-lasting materials, such as polymer. If a loader is well-made, it can perform its duties repeatedly without suffering any damage. There are several fantastically portable mag loaders available, including those that are both lightweight and small while yet being of a sturdy design and build.

Compatibility

You should check the speed loader’s compatibility with your handgun and caliber before buying it. Speed loaders come in various sizes, so you need to make sure that you get one that will fit your gun. Even universal speed loaders aren’t designed to work with every Glock, so it’s important to double-check before making a purchase.

Capacity

Another important factor to consider is the capacity of the speed loader. Make sure to choose a speed loader that can hold enough rounds for your needs. If you are only going to be using it for self-defense, then a smaller capacity speed loader should suffice. However, if you are going to be using it for competition or range shooting, then you will need a larger capacity speed loader.

Ergonomics

You also want to make sure that the speed loader is comfortable to use. After all, you don’t want to be fumbling around with a speed loader that is difficult to operate.

While some loaders may be operated with little effort, others demand considerable muscle. Check out loaders that need squeezing rather than pushing down on the handle if you’re not very strong or have trouble with arthritis in your hands. Look for a speed loader that fits comfortably in your hand and is easy to operate.

Budget

How much money are you willing to spend on a speed loader? There are a lot of different options out there, so you’ll need to have a budget in mind before you start shopping.

Online Reviews

Once you’ve narrowed down your options, take some time to read online reviews of the different speed loaders. See what other people have to say about their experiences using them. This can help you make a final decision about which one to buy.

Also, if you know anyone who has a Glock, ask them what kind of speed loader they use. They may have some great recommendations for you.
